Volunteer Policy

Purpose

1. The purpose of this Volunteer Policy is to outline the policies and procedures governing the use of volunteers for the Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization.

Scope

2. This policy applies to all individuals who volunteer their time and services to Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization.

Definition of Volunteers

3. Volunteers are individuals who perform services for Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization without compensation, except for reimbursement of expenses.

Volunteer Opportunities

4. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers may serve in administrative, fundraising, program, or special event roles, among others. The specific duties and responsibilities of each volunteer position will be outlined in a volunteer job description.

Volunteer Selection

5. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization welcomes all individuals who are interested in volunteering. The organization will select volunteers based on the needs of the organization, the qualifications of the volunteer, and the volunteer’s availability.

Volunteer Screening

6. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization will screen all volunteers to ensure that they are appropriate for the volunteer position. Screening may include, but is not limited to, background checks, reference checks, and interviews.

Volunteer Training

7. All volunteers will receive training to ensure that they are prepared for their volunteer position. The organization will provide orientation and training for each volunteer position.

Volunteer Supervision

8. Each volunteer will be assigned a supervisor who will provide guidance and support to the volunteer. The supervisor will ensure that the volunteer understands their duties and responsibilities, and provide feedback to the volunteer as needed.

Volunteer Recognition

9. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization recognizes the valuable contributions made by volunteers. The organization will provide recognition and appreciation to volunteers through awards, certificates, and other means.

Volunteer Records

10. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization will maintain records of all volunteers, including their contact information, volunteer position, and volunteer hours.

Volunteer Expense Reimbursement

11. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization will reimburse volunteers for expenses incurred while performing their volunteer duties, subject to the organization’s policies and procedures.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

12. Volunteers are expected to adhere to the Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization’s Code of Conduct at all times while volunteering. The Code of Conduct includes, but is not limited to, treating all individuals with respect, maintaining confidentiality, and refraining from engaging in any illegal or unethical activities.

Volunteer Safety

13. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization will take reasonable steps to ensure the safety of volunteers while they are performing their volunteer duties.

Volunteers are expected to report any safety concerns to their supervisor.

Volunteer Termination

14. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization reserves the right to terminate a volunteer’s relationship with the organization at any time, for any reason. The organization will provide the volunteer with notice of the termination.

Volunteer Policy Review

15. Rise & Reach Project nonprofit organization will review and update this Volunteer Policy as needed to ensure that it reflects the organization’s current practices and complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
